"Fabron of Wye was a pillar of strength in the Angus breed. It was written at his birthplace, "No single animal had contributed more or is found in as many pedigrees at Wye Plantation." Fabron of Wye weighed 625 pounds at 224 days of age for a 205-day weight of 572 pounds with a 356-day weight of 1,107 pounds and a mature weight of 2,065 pounds in pasture condition. He was described as thick-fleshed and correct with a great front end. He was a Certified Meat Sire who proved to be an outstanding sire of both bulls and cows. His son, Career of Wye, was best known as the sire of the $250,000 Wye Plantation record-seller, Lodge of Wye. His son, Columbus of Wye, was a second-generation Certified Meat Sire and a great breeding bull. His son, Beaufort of Wye, was best known as the sire of the high-maternal Pathfinder Sire, Schearbrook Shoshone. Matilda G of Wye, the highly-regarded dam of Fabron of Wye, is one of the most important cows in Wye history by the Wye Plantation Scotch-bred import, Gaird of Dalmeny, from the Wye foundation female, Pearl of Dorchester. Foremost of Wye, the sire of Fabron of Wye, was the first Wye-bred bull to achieve distinction through use in the Wye breeding program and he was from the mating of the legendary Wye foundation sire, Puck of Wickwire, with the noted Wye foundation cow, Capearl, who, before her 18th birthday, weaned her 17th and last calf.
The grandams of Fabron of Wye are the two most important cows among the ten paternal sisters who were selected as a group of heifers to become the very first registered Angus females at Wye Plantation at a price of $145 per head. Both females were members of the Flora family, who stemmed from Briarcliff Pearl and traced to Flora of Boghead, the foundation cow of this important family.
The influence of Fabron of Wye played an important role in the breeding program at Wye Plantation where he influenced pedigrees for decades to follow."

"Conan of Wye was a famous Pathfinder Sire with record breaking statistics who proved to be one of the top growth bulls of his era. He recorded a birth of weight of 85 pounds, a weaning weight of 657 pounds, a 205-day weight of 600 pounds for a weaning ratio of 105 and a 365-day weight of 1,243 pounds for an impressive average daily gain of 4.10 pounds per day on test, setting the record as the all-time top-gaining Wye bull throughout the decade of the 1960's. He was also the heaviest and the tallest bull bred at Wye Plantation when he weighed in at 2,416 pounds and stood 59 inches at the withers at six years of age. His first son used in the Wye breeding program was Father of Wye who continued the tradition of siring high-performance bulls with superior feed conversion. His son, Forever of Wye, was a Pathfinder Sire from a sire/daughter mating and was best known as the sire of Candolier Forever 376. A daughter, Coronita of Wye, when mated to her paternal brother, Father of Wye, produced the famous Candida of Wye who, in turn, produced Contact of Wye, the largest ever mature Wye bull who topped the record-setting 1978 Wye Sale at $115,000. Conan of Wye was triple-bred in three generations to the legendary Wye foundation sire, Puck of Wickwire, who was in turn, a linebred double grandson of the famous Scotch champion, Bemaster of Dalmeny. Conan of Wye and his sons were used extensively around the globe."

"The record-breaking Wye sire with widespread influence. Lodge of Wye sold two-thirds interest for $250,000 in 1968 to Black Watch Farm of New York, to become the first six-figure bull sold at Wye Plantation. He also achieved the record yearling weight of the breed at the time at 1,251 pounds, to record a 365-day weight of 1,319 pounds and an average daily gain of 3.81 pounds per day on test. As a mature bull, he weighed 2,400 pounds while seeing extensive service throughout his lifetime. It was calculated that he bred a total of 1,800 cows through natural service... Lodge of Wye made a lasting contribution to the betterment of the Angus breed. He recorded more than 500 daughters in production during the early years of the emerging Angus Herd Improvement Records program. He was also one of only 12 bulls in the Angus breed to be officially proven free of all genetic defects monitored by the American Angus Association through 35 sire/daughter matings."
